SARAH MILLARD EVENTING -
SPONSORSHIP

Sponsoring an event rider of Sarah’s calibre and experience can be an exciting prospect, providing your business with a unique form of advertising that reaches a wide audience.

Why become a sponsor?
With the London 2012 Olympics fast approaching, the whole country is becoming increasingly focused on sport, leading to increased publicity and media interest for virtually every sporting discipline. This exciting event provides companies large and small with new and unique opportunities to achieve unprecedented brand exposure in many previously unexplored markets, while at the same time supporting the development of sport in Britain.

Horses have always held a special place in the imagination of the public and, of all the equestrian disciplines, eventing is uniquely positioned to reach the widest possible audience. Combining the finesse and beauty of dressage, the power and precision of showjumping and the spectacle and adrenaline of cross country, eventing enjoys a broad appeal. Add to this the family-friendly atmosphere, history and splendour of the historic parklands and estates which play host to these events, and you have an unrivalled level of appeal to equestrians and non-equestrians alike. With everyone from professional athletes and hobby riders, to families and local business owners, as well as some famous faces, regularly attending many of the sport’s fixtures,  eventing is an ideal forum to promote your brand, whatever your business.

What does sponsorship involve?
Sponsoring major events is can be an expensive proposition, and so an affordable way to become a sponsor in the eventing world is through sponsorship of a professional rider. This not only ensures good brand visibility at events, but demonstrates your company’s commitment to supporting British sportsmen and women.

Sponsorship can take many forms, from financial backing to support the day-to-day running of the yard or the development of an individual horse, to the provision of services, products or equipment for use by Sarah and the team. Understanding that sponsorship should be mutually beneficial, Sarah is always seeking new support which complements her commitments to existing sponsors.

What can you expect in return?
As a sponsor, you can expect Sarah’s endorsement of your company’s products or services, as well as clear brand visibility at the events she attends in the form of relevant product use and vehicle graphics (if supplied). Your company would also benefit from additional promotion in the form of:
  • diverse media coverage – including website and social media, press releases, ‘news in brief’ announcements and potential print/online article opportunities.
  • advertising at non-competitive events – such clinics, owners days, open days and the opening of Sarah’s new yard later this year.
  • association with Sarah’s charity work – working in support of Help for Heroes.

In addition, Sarah is an active freelance instructor, training riders of all abilities and working with several branches of the Pony Club, ensuring further publicity for sponsors both locally and in her home region of East Anglia, where she still has a loyal client base.
